Discounts, Deals, and Free Stuff in the Detroit Area

New Border’s rewards plan

Posted on | September 3, 2010 | No Comments

I’ve never been a big fan of discount plans you have to pay for — and that’s what Border’s books launched Sept. 1. To get it off the ground, consumers of their current free discount plan, which will continue to exist, will earn twice the “Borders Bucks” freeebies through Sept. 6. Typically, members earn $5 in “Borders Bucks” for every $150 they spend. For these five days, Borders is doubling the rewards. If a customer spends $75, he gets $5 in Bucks. Members of the free program also will receive 30 percent off the list price of hardcover bestsellers. Worth thinking about if you are buying books anyway.
