One thing that makes Metro Detroit’s business community stand out is its array of Black-owned companies and Black entrepreneurs. Their work spans from small, family-owned firms to large corporations that provide jobs, resources and more to Michigan residents.
In support of Black-owned business and to honor the recent protests in the wake of the death of George Floyd, some people are working hard to frequent shops, restaurants and other kinds of retailers that are owned by People of Color. To highlight that effort, here is a list of some of the businesses people could visit within Metro Detroit.

Here are a few of the businesses owned by People of Color within Metro Detroit that you may want to support in the weeks, months and years to come. I’ve visited many of these stores over the years and can vouch for the food, products and great customer service across the board.
