Avalon is an icon, feeding people around the Midtown area since its opening in 1997. The food is truly delicious and has a variety of breads, great breakfast foods like huge muffins and tons of hearty sandwiches.
Caffe Far Bella: This St. Clair Shores coffeehouse is a haven for seniors, kids and families of all kinds. Caffe Far Bella has relaxed seating, small spots where you can stretch out and get some work done. Even if you just want a spot to read without interruption, you’ll find it here. It also has lots of tasty eats, including Better Made potato chips and the cafe’s famous S-shaped cookies.
Cornwall Bakery: Cornwall Bakery loves feeding its community, whether it is through its daily delicious offering or through cooking classes. The Grosse Pointe Park shop is known for its bread, sweet items and wonderful meal kits. There are plenty of spots to eat or bring your work if you want to hang out and see the neighborhood go by.
Great Lakes Roasting Company: This Detroit coffee house is made for co-working. There are lots of open areas, and the bar is a great spot to sit back and watch the world go by. You can bring anyone you want for a meeting or you can just sit and relax while working on your next big project.
Roasting Plant: Watching the coffee get made here is unique to say the least. There’s a cool computer that does the work for you. There are drinks of other kinds as well if caffeine isn’t your thing, but that’s the main attraction at this fun Detroit spot. Plus, you can go right across the street to Campus Martius to sip away and prep for your next event or meeting.
Urban Bean Company: You know you’ve made it to Detroit’s chill hangout when you see the colorful orange front. Urban Bean is an ideal spot to stop by during any downtown visit to take a rest, grab a coffee, or just sit a spell. The food includes local favorites Dutch Girl donuts, croissants and other sweet treats that are just right for every appetite.
